Growing up mainly around the waters of the Florida Panhandle, Melissa was born in Tallahassee and raised among the cypress trees on Lake Bradford. A majority of her childhood was spent either at her Carrabelle River house, catching fish with her Grandpa at the Ochlocknee River campground, or at the beach on St. Georges Island.
